Style: Fineline
This is a very delicate and often highly detailed technique. Often
the use of negative space can make or brake one of these tattoos,
also too much detail can make a tattoo blurry after a few years
so the skill of the artist is very important. Fineline has its roots
in prison tattooing where artists had to show skill in detail rather
than flashy colors. It is often used for portraits and similar motifs
that require a high level of detail. The best Fineline tattooist
uses detailing sparingly, with an eye towards how it will hold up
in the future.
