Style: Traditional

Also referred as "sailor" style. It is usually a very basic style that only use a minimum amount of details making the tattoos look quite two dimensional and flat. It was very popular in the 40s and 50s but has been used since the 1800´s to present time.

The style often gives a cartoonish feeling as the lines tend to be thick and bold with colorful motifs and little details. Typical motifs would be flowers, hearts, mermaids, daggers, ships, anchors, snakes, birds, panthers and names. Things are changing and lately this style has changed a bit to give the motifs more detail and artistic flair, these designs often get displayed on walls as flash in most tattoo studios.
